YOUNG INDIA !!!RISE UP
I have been excited for quite some time now.This summer , i am graduating from BIT MESRA as a computer science engineer.I have multiple job offers at hand and feel obliged to my college and to my nation for being so kind to me in this age of economic turmoil.Now it's my turn to deliver.It apparently is quite an achievement that i have completed 18 years of education in my current 21 years of life.
But this summer , a lot of exciting things are around the corner.I am moving into life,its' IPL again!!!Obama!will he be able to spell miracles into the real estate and auto world???Kasab's decision is expected,will Prabhakaran be caught???will India gain the ODI top spot or will the Aussies hit back???is that all???NO---->its' a lot more!Nowadays my morning tea tastes different;now i often get lost into thoughts;now i only wish that i were as ignorant as most of our peace loving nation is.
This time i am voting!!!Uff...tough thing this election...whom do i vote?let us leave this debacle aside and first decide on why do i vote???well i vote because i am an Indian,a part of the world's most rational and huge democracy.I vote because my country has taught me and made me wise enough to have opinions.I vote because i want to have a say in my country's socio-economic and political decisions and the best way to have a say is to make your silent point in favor or against any parties' agenda...and that implies VOTE!!!
Now whom do i vote and why?I am talking about the general parliamentary elections...now does that make a difference???....voting for a candidate is the aggregate of
{ the MP candidate
the Party
the Prime ministerial candidate
the Agenda at the national and constituency level
}
But unfortunately the voting in our country has been predominantly regional,leading to an unstable centre.It's DMK/AIDMK in karnataka,BJD in orissa,RJD in bihar,SHIV SENA and NCP in maharashtra,SP and BSP in UP, LEFT in west bengal,JMM in jharkhand and many other regional parties which has lead to the centre being 150 odd/550 (BJP/INC) plus the regional actors.So,do i vote on the local candidates' merit or on the basis of the national party???
Suppose I decide rationally that my vote shall go to a cumulative scorer that is individual plus national,then the next question is which national ideology do i choose and why?Our centre is predominantly a dual state...one facet being the Indian National Congress,backed up by the 48/60 years' experience at the government and of late boosted by the tremendous finance trio of the PM Mr. Manmohan Singh , the home minister Mr. P.Chidambaram and the PM's deputy at the planning commission Mr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia.The other view is that of the Bhartiya Janta Party ,still having Mr. Vajpayee as it's figurehead, Mr Advani as the new blog_teched youth leader and the strong anti terror ideology which aims at giving their due rights and justice to the 72% hindus in our country.I have to decide between the "young_RAHUL_archival_GANDHI" and the issues of POTA and Afzal's hanging.
I have to decide on what issues to consider and which amongst them to bank upon.I have to think a lot!!!I certainly cannot vote for the lady whom my aunt is persuading me to vote for, only because she has been our family friend for 10 years and it's our moral obligation to be with her.
I will vote for the BEST man for "THE BEST JOB".
